EPICENTER DAIRY
HAGERMAN, NEW MEXICO
The Epicenter Dairy went into operation in 1993. The dairy is located in the prestigious Pecos Valley approximately four miles southwest of Dexter or six miles northwest of Hagerman.
The climate is ideal for dairying with its mild winters and summers with night temperatures of an average of 70 degrees. Annual precipitation is 10 to 12 inches per year with most occurring in July through September. The growing season averages 210 days, beginning April 15 and lasting until October 20. The elevation of Lake Arthur is 3,400 feet.
The acres belonging to the Epicenter Dairy consist of a total of 320 acres with 228.4 acres of water rights. The New Mexico Environment Permit for the dairy is considered to be for 1800 milking. The improvements are designed for efficiency in handling and feeding the cows. It is a modern dry lot dairy with up-to-date equipment.
